Semarang – In an effort to deepen the understanding of ethics, ethos, and prolonged engagement in holistic nursing practice, Universitas Diponegoro (Undip) recently organized a guest lecture on Friday, September 8, 2023, at the Auditorium on the 5th floor of the Department of Nursing building, Undip’s Tembalang Campus.
This guest lecture attracted a total of 262 students from both the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Nursing, who gathered to gain insights into these critical aspects of nursing practice. Dr. I Wayan Suardana, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., an esteemed lecturer and practitioner from Poltekkes Kemenkes Denpasar, Bali, was invited as the speaker. His extensive experience and expertise were expected to provide valuable perspectives to the eager participants.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Anggorowati, S.Kp., M.Kep., Ns.Sp.Kep.Mat., the Head of the Department of Nursing, who emphasized the lecture’s significance in enhancing the quality of education. She stressed that an understanding of ethics, ethos, and prolonged engagement in holistic nursing practice is essential for aspiring nurses in their journey toward professionalism.
The lecture proceeded with a comprehensive presentation and engaging discussions, skillfully guided by Mrs. Suhartini, MNS., Ph.D., a lecturer specializing in critical nursing. The students exhibited great enthusiasm as they actively participated in the discussions and interacted with the speaker.
Undip’s commitment to fostering a culture of ethical and holistic nursing practice was evident throughout the event. This expert lecture provided a unique platform for students to delve into the fundamental aspects of independent nursing practice.
